Tunbridge Wells Plumbers – Terms & Conditions

1. General

These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out by Tunbridge Wells Plumbers. Acceptance may be given verbally, in writing, or by allowing work to commence.

2. Rates & Working Hours

Monday – Friday
  • £100 per hour (8:00am – 5:00pm)
  • £120 per hour (5:00pm – 10:00pm)
  • £160 per hour (10:00pm – 8:00am)
Saturday
  • £100 per hour (8:00am – 5:00pm)
  • £160 per hour (5:00pm – 8:00am)
Sunday
  • £160 per hour (all day)
Additional Notes
  • Minimum charge of 1 hour applies
  • Emergency/out-of-hours rates will be confirmed in advance

3. Call-Out & Diagnostic Fees

  • A call-out/diagnostic fee may apply, even if no further work is carried out
  • Time spent diagnosing faults is chargeable

4. Quotations & Payment

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise
  • A 50% deposit may be required for larger jobs
  • Full payment is strictly due immediately upon completion of works
  • We reserve the right to suspend or withhold services until payment is received

5. Late Payments

  • Any unpaid invoices may be subject to statutory interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998
  • Interest may be charged at 8% above Bank of England base rate

6. Materials

  • All materials supplied are subject to a 10% markup
  • This covers sourcing, collection, handling, and warranty support
  • Materials remain the property of Tunbridge Wells Plumbers until paid for in full

7. Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • The customer is responsible for ensuring systems are in a safe condition prior to work
  • Where applicable, customers should isolate water or gas supplies before works begin

8. Parking & Access

  • Suitable parking must be provided where possible
  • Any parking charges, permits, or associated costs will be added to the final invoice
  • If we are unable to carry out work due to lack of access or customer absence, a full charge may apply

9. Cancellations

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations
  • Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged up to 50% of the booked work value
  • Missed appointments may be charged at the full rate

10. Workmanship Guarantee

  • Labour is guaranteed for 6 months from completion
This excludes:
  • Customer-supplied materials
  • Manufacturer defects
  • Misuse, neglect, or accidental damage
  • Pre-existing faults outside the agreed scope

11. Parts & Manufacturer Warranties

  • All parts and materials are subject to manufacturer warranties only
  • Tunbridge Wells Plumbers is not liable for manufacturer faults or failures

12. Liability

We are not liable for:
  • Pre-existing issues not reasonably identifiable
  • Hidden pipework, wiring, or structural defects
  • Liability is strictly limited to the value of the work carried out

13. Additional Works

  • Any work outside the agreed scope will be discussed and agreed before proceeding
  • Additional work will be charged at applicable rates

14. Delays & Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to supplier delays, weather conditions, or unforeseen site issues

15. Waste & Clean-Up

  • Work areas will be left in a clean and tidy condition
  • Disposal of waste materials will be agreed prior to works

16. Acceptance

By accepting a quote, booking work, or allowing work to commence, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
